Ryan Gargullo — Director of Racquets Program

Ply-Mar welcomes back for his third Summer, Ryan Gargullo as the Head Director of Racquets Program. Ryan established himself as a familiar in the local tennis scene with prior experience at Green Valley C.C., University of Pennsylvania, Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center, LaSalle University, and the Tennis Addiction Sports Club. Most recently, he excelled as the Director of College Placement and an Academy coach at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida, and served as Chestnut Hill College Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach during the 2016-2017 season in which the men’s program captured the College’s first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

As a junior tennis player, Ryan earned top rankings both locally and nationally, simultaneously competing at Chestnut Hill Academy before playing collegiately at LaSalle University. With the Explorers, he served as a three-year captain, consistently performing at number one singles, number one doubles, and number two doubles. He was chosen as the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times and was a three-time recipient of the University’s Scholar Athlete Academic Achievement Award. 

Ryan is certified by the various Tennis Establishments such as the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), United States Racquet Stringers Association (USRSA), and The Human Performance Institute, and currently resides in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

Darren Johnson — Head Pickleball Pro

I am an avid pickleball player and PPR instructor with a proven track record of delivering exceptional coaching and instruction to pickleball players of all levels. I am genuinely compassionate and devoted to promoting and cultivating a thriving pickleball community here in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. With a 24-year history of playing tennis, my instruction emphasizes technique, strategy, player development, and most of all: ENCOURAGING FUN AND HAPPINESS.

I am committed to creating individualized training programs and fostering a positive learning environment.

I have successfully trained numerous individuals and empowered them to enhance their skill levels from novice to advanced all whilst achieving their pickleball goals. With exceptional communication and people skills, I excel in developing rapport and trust on and off the court. I am well versed at adapting to individual needs, learning styles, and identifying

Jeffrey Himelstein — Racquets Pro

Tennis and pickleball have been cornerstones of my life. Both sports have been major parts of my workout regimen. I played varsity tennis at Strath Haven High School from 2012-2016 and Haverford College from 2016-2019. I have also played in Pickleball tournaments over the years in New Jersey and the Philadelphia area.

Pickleball and tennis are so fun, and I want to keep playing for the rest of my life!

Mackenzie Sherman — Racquets Pro

My name is Mackenzie Sherman. I am from Penn Valley, PA and I am a rising junior on the Franklin & Marshall College women’s tennis team. This will be my fourth summer teaching tennis, and I look forward to another successful summer of helping athletes of all ages improve!

Adrell Dalsan — Tennis Pro

Adrell is originally from St. Lucia (Caribbean) and was introduced to tennis at 8 years old. He played competitively in high school and competed in a few international junior tournaments. Adrell is incredibly passionate about tennis and has decades of experience coaching players from the beginner through advanced levels. He is a former #1 singles and doubles player at Arcadia University where he also helped train and develop the women’s tennis team. He truly believes tennis is a game everyone can enjoy for a lifetime and is excited to join the Ply-Mar coaching team.
